Oregon Folklife Network is not accepting new applications for the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program 2026 program year.

This program is supported with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. Due to unprecedented instability of this federal funding, OFN staff lacks administrative capacity to host a competitive, juried award process at this time.

Pending funding*, OFN will instead nominate prior applicants from the 2025 cycle pool who were recommended for a Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program (TAAP) award in fall of 2024 but who were not given an award due to lack of funding at that point in time. The Oregon Folklife Network remains committed to our vision to provide immediate and tangible benefits to culture bearers and their communities. Running this apprenticeship program, in any capacity, is essential to supporting the lives and traditions of Oregon culture keepers.

Please contact our staff if you are interested in applying for the TAAP award in the future. We will make sure you receive notice of when future award cycles will open.

Questions? Email ofn@uoregon.edu or call 541-346-3820.

*Plans to run the TAAP 2026 program are dependent on receiving National Endowment for the Arts funding. The program will not be able to run if these funds do not come through on January 1, 2026.

Funding for TAAP comes from the National Endowment for the Arts, Folk & Traditional Arts program and the Oregon Arts Commission. Operational support from the Oregon Cultural Trust and the University of Oregon makes possible this and other OFN programs.
