The Springfield Public Library and History Museum’s mission—Discover, Connect, Grow—reflects our commitment to helping the community access resources for work, learning, and entertainment, both in our physical buildings and online. We provide welcoming spaces where people can gather, meet, and connect.

We strive to promote understanding of our shared history and diverse cultures, helping our community grow together. Through our programs and resources, we offer both windows and mirrors: opportunities to learn about new cultures, traditions, and experiences, and opportunities for individuals to see themselves and their own stories reflected in our services.

Located in the heart of downtown Springfield, the Library and Museum serve as anchor destinations and vital community assets. People of all ages and backgrounds come together here seeking information—and in the process, they find one another.

Together, we are building a stronger community.

CULTURE CONNECTS PROGRAM GOALS

The goal of our program is to intentionally center and celebrate the people, language, culture and heritage of the Latine community in a thoughtful and timely manner. We believe that working with the community to develop intentional programming that brings people together through the intersections of the arts, culture and heritage with guest artists and culture bearers will be healing and offer strength for the community.
